I’m in the process of going DIY, and will have quite a lot of spare LED strip leftover. I’m thinking about adding a second row of LED strip point out at 90 degrees to extend the throw outwards. Alternatively light use some in the shadow gap at the top of the wall above the TV.
Either way, it would be useful to be able to control the brightness of the extra / second strip separately in the advanced setting zone control.
Is this something that could be added in an app update?

We had quite the discussion to allow for controlling the LED outputs independently. But we ultimately decided it would require too much of a firmware change, not to mention app changes and potential sources of confusion and configuration. It's possible but 99% sure this will not get implemented any time soon, unless we have many additional requests.
If you have alot of leftover LEDs, you could always install another strip around your TV in parallel for twice the brightness.

If you have alot of leftover LEDs, you could always install another strip around your TV in parallel for twice the brightness. Yes, that’s one of the things I may do (I have enough spare strip for three sides) but my idea was to mount those at 90 degrees to the exsisting strip, pointing outwards to extend the spread. Therefore it would have been useful to be able to control the balance of brightness between close up lighting (pointing directly at the wall) and more distant (LED strip pointing outwards). It would also be useful to be able to configure LED1 & LED2 individually for ambient and sound modes. i.e. For instance; selecting video activated only LED1, but ambient activates LED1 & LED2. This would be useful if LED1 is around the TV screen, but LED2 is around a TV unit below.
