If you want to protect the front of the led strip, just use a piece of cardboard, and hold vertically next to the tape where you are currently spraying. Cans are usually under 20 dollars and is more than enough to apply on several flex reels.

The hook/loop set I got had strong adhesive backing. So, I went around the perimeter or my TV with the female hook/loop. Then, attached all the male hook/loop to the LED strips. This also gives you the added benefit of taking the LED's off and putting them back on, if necessary. Since I used the DIY kit and got a WS2813 5m reel, the waterproof silicon housing doesn't get a great adhesive tack. It was good enough for my purposes, but I also used a bit of silicon glue in my fold-over corners and other areas.

I had serious issues with the provided adhesive on my LG OLED. Nearly every light fell off within a week. The product below not only works better, it is totally clear and much easier to remove than the provided tape. The provided product is simply inadequate. I highly recommend completely removing the existing tape and replacing with this: Clear Mounting Tape - Acrylic Adhesive Foam Tape 10m X 10mm www.amazon.com/dp/B074J3X2SJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_x5Q4AbW52S3ZR

I am having the same problem. I bought 30lb double sided scotch foam tape, which sticks very well to the TV, but the 3m adhesive side of the dreamscreen led strips keeps lifting away from the scotch adhesive. I wrote to dreamscreen tech support as to whether it would be advisable to use LOCKTITE gel super glue or Gorilla glue designed to adhere to foam and plastic but haven't heard back yet. I'm worried the permanence of the the super glue will make it hard to remove and reuse the dreamscreen LEDs from the monitor in the future should that monitor fail and I would like to adhere them to a new one.

The hook and loop (Velcro) no only kept my LEDs on the tv it also gives the freedom of adjusting the spacing more easily without wearing out the stickyness of the direct adhesive strips to the tv. I just bought a 25ft roll that had good reviews on Amazon. The exact one I bought is currently unavailable so I couldn’t get the link to post. It hasn’t moved. However I did all this work to get the LEDs in good positioning but my DS4K hasn’t worked properly since I bought it but if this pos worked I’m sure it would be really something! 👍🏼 😡 I’m kinda just waiting for a fix or someone else to develop a product that I can use the existing lights with.

I used to have a lightberry before my dreamscreen unit.
I have found from my experience that the best solution to mounting LEDs is simply blutac (not sure if it's name is different in the US).
It holds them well, and gives you the opportunity to move the LEDs to fine tune their position.
My setup is not conventional, my KS8000 is mounted with the Samsung picture wall mount so it is very flush with my wall. My LEDs point outwards instead of directly backwards towards the wall.
Blutac sounds ghetto. But it works and doesn't leave any residue on your TV.

So after spending $230 for the lights we now have to spend more to get the correct tape on the LED's? That's not right as it should have come with the correct tape to begin with.
