So I bought a 5m 6812 strip and hooked it up tonight but all I get is a blinding white light so I guess I am a little confused by grandpopsicle and paulforrest because you talk about the 6812 in your post but in other threads it seems like the 6812 is not compatible? Any clarification would help me immensely. Thanks in advance Well it looks like I ended up with an RGBW 30 Strip from Amazon even though the item description was clear that it was RGB but its always good to have a backup so I had a 5m 60 strip which I was convinced wouldn't work but I cut it in half and it's amazing. It's like a whole new product. I now am contemplating whether I even want to put the other half in port 2.

grandpopsicle how did you succesfully repurpose the flex led cable into a DIY cable? Did you have to solder?
