I think the major problem with the dream screen is they are trying to pack too much into the unit, and it's performing too little. I think they over complicated the unit by adding the 3 HDMI ports, and then making the box have to try to do CEC/HDCP/Etc etc.
There should be NO REASON we have to force our devices to go through dream screen and have to control yet another piece of hardware in our theater or even basic setups, Especially since the dreamscreen still limits these devices and doesn't let them stretch their legs to their full potential (read the multiple issues on UHD/HDR). This is where the BLE version beats the 4k version by miles. Since it has one input.
The Dreamscreen BLE unit works beautifully when connected to my TV/Devices with the exception of it forcing everything into 1080p max.
Simplify the unit to a single in single out setup, and spend your time working out issues before releasing your product. You're more likely to have better sales and less customer dissatisfaction.
However, based on my experience with 2 4k units not working properly despite dumbing my system down to the bare minimum, I'm not sure I'd ever want to touch a dreamscreen device UNTIL they've proven theyve done the QA

Since the release of the DreamScreen 4K we have noticed some customers having an issue when trying to use the device with an AV receiver in play. Some AV receivers do not always work well with DreamScreen due to the timing issues associated with passing an HDMI signal through multiple passthrough devices like the DreamScreen.
To combat this issue we have designed a version of the DreamScreen 4K that does not utilize HDMI passthrough and will only control the LED lights. This is intended for customers that have an AV receiver with a second HDMI output. This DreamScreen, called "DreamScreen Solo", will be plugged into the second HDMI output of those receivers and will solely analyze the HDMI signal and control the lights. This should be prevent any video passthrough issues that some customers have experienced with using DreamScreen 4K with an AV receiver.
We plan to release more information about this project at the end of April.

Could you please share more details about the "DreamScreen Solo" device and availability date as well? I'm especially interested how the device EDID will be stable and mirror the TV's EDID data in case of no connectivity from the device to the TV to able to read out the EDID( at least once to save permanently to the device.) In case of AV receiver dual output (mirror port), the AV receive able to output the minimum common agreed compatible output format, so need to make sure that the DreamScreen Solo EDID contains everything what the TV capable of doing. I expect an easy method to refresh/upload EDID to the device, like one time connecting to the TV then in app save EDID, or for debugging purpose send EDID via HTTP to the device.

Are you are complaining about being given too much tech for your money?
You are also making the ASSUMPTION that the problem is "too many HDMI inputs on the HUB and trying to pack too much into the unit".
You said it yourself. "There should be NO REASON we have to force our devices to go through dream screen" ...and you don't.
I have a Denon receiver with two HDMI monitor outputs.
I only use the one HDMI input on the HUB (with no outputs) using monitor 2 HDMI from the receiver. My HDTV is feed by monitor 1 (MAIN) out from the receiver.
All of my HDMI sources (chromecast, blu ray, etc) are connected to the Denon receiver. (not the HUB)
Everything works fine.
P.S. I have a dreamscreen 4k (regular unit)
You might need a HD Fury Linker before your hub ($180)

So will we get a discount on SOLO if we just bought a regular 4k unit?
Also, as far as I know a HT receiver with two devices connected to both monitor outputs will always adjust the signal to match the "weakest" connected device, in that scenario. I will be interested to see how that works.

The first DreamScreen Solo test units will be sent out around July. Thank you for your input. I'll volunteer to test the Solo. I'm assuming you've got some pre-production ones by now. I've got the HDF Vertex and multiple splitters including the one baked into my AVR. So I can provide detailed diagnostics if I run into any issues while testing it.

despite 4k dude not really paying attention to my other threads and troubleshooting, I'm not even going to entertain a response
IS THE SOLO READY YET?! Still quite upset the 4k has been 100% useless for me.

My Dreamscreen 4k DIY is connected to my monitor 2 hdmi. It works great, but once in a while it causes a layer of white haze on my Samsung TV. Kinda looks like the brightness has been turned way up. Black bars in movies will look very gray for some reason. I have to restart my HTPC to fix this or disconnect the PC hdmi out cable and re plug it in.
Not sure if its the TV, PC (graphics card) or Denon receiver being affected. Firmware v1.6.5.6
