Hi everybody,
Like a lot of you, I bought a DS 4K and a Connect because of the promise that it held.
Unfortunately, Dreamscreen closed their doors, and so I've stepped up to help fill in the gap and keep everybody's setups working.
As such, I've created a kickstarter for my device, which I call "Glimmr TV".
GlimmrTV works with your existing DS hardware and software. It is fully compatible with the DS apps, and can allow you to control Hue Lights, Lifx lights, and Nanoleaf Panels in sync with your TV.
If you already have a dreamscreen, it can sync like a sidekick and control the above devices.
If your dreamscreen died - you can connect this to the existing LED connectors and control them with Glimmr TV.
If you don't have a dreamscreen and want one - this will do the exact same thing, including the backlights behind your TV, but allow controlling other devices as well. You don't need any other hardware.
Additionally - the software that drives Glimmr TV is free and open-source. You can run it on a laptop with a webcam and be ready to go.
So, if you're interested, my project has 13 days left to reach it's funding goal. Please consider taking a look and supporting me if you want to keep this concept going!

I can’t wait to get my hands on this! Does hue, Nanoleaf, and lifx all synced to the screen, hdmi or camera with some pretty neat software that can place the camera right up close to the tv and still stretch and skew it so the lights work correctly! Good stuff man, keep up the good work. Backed the 150”, going to do the software as soon as I can.

For anybody who's come across this and is still interested - I created a second kickstarter project, which did reach funding. Since then, I've completed a working prototype, and am now mostly working on the software side before shipping sometime in Q1 or Q2 of next near. I've got auto-cropping of black bars, HDMI input, camera input, screen capture from a Pi, double the number of sectors available to "sidekick" like devices, and fixed some issues with sector mapping. My device supports 4K, HDR, and all of the HDMI 2.2 standards. CEC works perfectly. And, it integrates with all existing Dreamscreen devices. And yes, it will sync with Hue, Lifx, Nanoleaf, and (new) WLED devices. I've even created my own clone of the Hue Play bar that supports multiple colors at once, and a wireless extender/controller for LEDs for those who have a projector or a BIG screen. Whatever your poison...I should have you covered, and I am accepting preorders/late backers to the project. Since I don't visit this forum that frequently any more, the best way to find me is to track me down in this group on Facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/312944266168349Alternatively, I think you can send me a message on Kickstarter via the successfully backed project or my profile:
