nice job
looks like you used the aluminum profiles to angle the LED's and also to construct a frame that uses the VESA mounting holes so that you dont have to glue to the TV back
Did you angle them to get more light instead of the traditional parallel to the wall?
with 65" you must have used 60 LED/m LEDs could you share which ones you bought and where? The profile already comes with an angle ,Because of the angle there is more light. yes ,its 60LED/m. SK6812 5050 RGB 60LED/m the PCB it's mini. Attachments:

thanks for sharing
I think its a good encouragement for other DIY'ers
good job on picking the only one out of six LED strip options there that will actually work with DS BTW non-mini with 1cm width work for me just as well - doesnt have to be the 5mm mini - LED's should be the same 5050
Looks like this wasnt your first LED project :-)

Thanks... I bought a mini, thought to install 2 stripes per corner. There's enough light, no more LEDs .

too bad DS only supports a max of 250 LEDs I have a 75" TV so I cannot use 60 LED/m strips

Awesome job. Being handy I think sometimes is a curse. I used the same practice on some bias lighting with white pvc molding from homeycheapo and velcro. I am waiting for my DS DIY kit To me the big advantage of the pvc is the glue backing on the strips is very thin and I have had some strips short because the are on metal. Just don't re position them once they are stuck. The pvc has a radius on the inside corner so you can angle it almost anywhere in 90 deg. arc. My bad.....didn't see the 2nd page till after I posted. Doah! Attachments:

I noticed that your upper LEDs are quite a distance from the edge of the TV Do you think thats still ok for Ambilight ? Does the angled profile help there ?

They are the same distance from the sides as well as the top. Only because they sent me 2 meters instead of 3. That's ok though as they gave me a full refund. Actually works good as as ambilight. I was able to play with it at night to get the best angle for the most effect and actually works pretty good as it is pointing out not at the wall. When I get the DS flex LED's the will all the way to the edge and will more than likely put the ambilight on a separate 5v wall wart and use it independently. It works great as a light to leave on to come home to.

Hi, I was wondering: I have a 65 inch TV coming and was planning to get the DIY 4K. For LED Strips i wanted to go with 60 LEDs/m. My "problem": Dreamscreen states that they support 80 LEDs on top and Bottom + 45 on each side for a total of 250 LEDs. I was planning on getting a 60 LED/m strip. Seeing that my screen will be 1,45m wide and 83 cm high, that would be 87 LEDs on the Top and Bottom and 49 on each side in total - 272 LEDs. How to handle this, in order for DS not to treat top LEDs as side ones? I reckon cutting off is not an option, seeing that they need power to work. Also I would prefer them to cover the whole back of the TV without gaps. How did you make those extension connections across the corners. Soldering? If I set DS up with 2 reels like described in the video below, is that an option? Does that remove the restrictions in terms of max. LEDs? Or do I have to go to 30 LED/m reels? That would be a pity, I would very much prefer the high resolution. www.youtube.com/watch?v=FljA0DhUiZsAny help is much appreciated.

the max 250 adressable LEDs is a hard limit in the code doesnt matter if you use one LED port or both - its a system limit
You can ask the DS developers if an enhancment is possible - but I dont know if that would require new hardware design or just firmware. Probably best to ask via kickstarter comments if you are a backer
you may be able to run two 30 LED/m strips in parallel

Hi. My TV its same size 146X84 65” ,There is no problem with the LEDS light ,244 LEDs totall. The light is very strong, I even reduced it. 244 LEDs because of the gap in the back. Up 80 LEDs. Down 74 LEDs. Right 45 LEDs. Left 45 LEDs. Look at my installation

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have a few more questions: 1. What is the benefit - if any - of running with 2 reels as opposed to 1? Are you running with 1 or 2? 2. If I have, say 250 LEDs, each consuming 60mA (--> 250 * 0,06A = 15A), is the provided power supply sufficient? 3. Do these guys handle(and cover?) the customs if I order from abroad (GER)?
Thanks in advance for a reply.

if you distribute your LEDs between the two ports then each strip is shorter which should mean less power voltage drop and more even colors whether or not that is noticable depends on your LEDs and config
for 2) according to DS it should do a forum search for what DS employee's are saying - I am just a user
if you order from the US you need to pay customs there is a german distributor now - I dont know what models he has in stock there also is a german facebook dreamscreen group where he is active

I use a power supply that came in the package ,It's strong enough. That's how I connected :
