Hi, I'm on Windows, installed Python, got the script and can run it - But fell at the first hurdle.
I know the DreamScreen IP, read from the app, I define it on line 22. But when running the script it states "SyntaxError: Missing parentheses in call to 'print'. Did you mean print(print "This has an error in your IP's length")?"

I found out it will not run on Python 3 - it has to be Python 2. I have installed Python 2.7 and can run the commands from the terminal window. I cannot however get everything talking to each other. HELP!!

Over the weekend based on what I had seen others doing, I took a stab at making a Home Assistant Service so that you can integrate the DreamScreen with most of the IoT stuff. github.com/GregoryDosh/Home-Assistant-DreamScreen-ServiceI've got it right now hooked in through emulated_hue so that I can have my Harmony remote automatically switch between different input sources since I've got an HDMI splitter on one and then an Apple TV and some other things on the other sources. Hi there, I'm hoping someone can help. I've now got python installed (on Windows), installed the latest version of Home Assistant. It is working perfectly, the discovery service has found my TV, Amp, Plex and Hue lights and I can control each of these. What I can't work out is where or how to add the 'Home-Assistant-DreamScreen-Service'?

Hi, I can get this working in terminal on my mac, but am unable to figure out how to load this onto my raspberry pi running Home Assistant. Would you be able to expand on the setup instructions as I am looking to do the same as you, control the dreamscreen HD from my harmony commands. Thanks

Hi there,
is there also a possibility to add a switch for restarting the Dreamscreen? Somehow mine stays black or shows snow sometimes after starting it in the evening. Restarting solves the issue mostly.
Using the script with Hombridge and Script2 add on.
Best, def

Just a quick note to say I had another stab at getting this working (using a docker package on my synology) and have it working. Thanks very much, brings me the automation I was looking for, similar to what I have on the Philips Hue.

Hi been using this in conjunction with a web server to create voice automation for a while and it works great. So thank you - dreamscreen.boards.net/thread/1245/dreamscreen-4k-voice-controlJust a quick question where did you get the DS4K SDK documentation mentioned in the git? I want to add functionality to toggle the newly added HDR tonemapping. Thanks

It's all good, I found them.
Also managed to add the HDR tone mapping if anyone's interested.
Btw I have since tested the above link with Google home and it works. Should work with Alexa too

Hi, I use the python script on my pi, running the script from ha-bridge using Alexa and Harmony for controle. Works fine, but: I now added 2 sidekicks and did build a group. So I changed the group number from "0" to "1", but only the Dreamscreen reacts, the sidekicks don't allthough the app shows the group being active....now I'm confused. If I use the app for controlling, Dreamscreen and the sidekicks react. Any suggestions?

OK, got it working now by installing the script another 2 times (one for each sidekick) and sending the command three times (for each IP adress). Is this the correct way to go?
