But they have said on their current Kickstarter page, that the new DreamScreen HD/4K models (with WiFi connection) WILL get Hue support. They have already done some preliminary work on the interface, and they expect to have it ready by November.
wasnt November what they said last year ? I think I read something that the current speed isnt good and they need to test a bridge update from Philips
Given the work to do to fix HDR/Chroma plus Dolby Vision I wouldnt bank on features that arent delivered yet I would also think that Alexa support is higher on the list to be implemented than Hue
Yeah, earlier last year they said they expected to have that ready by November... but that was, when they still expected to have all the DreamScreen HD and 4K units shipped by the end of August (2017). Given the set of delays they have encountered, I think "~3 months after all units are shipped" is probably a more reasonable estimate.
We have been backlogged to say the least. But most of the new functionalities/integrations coming out are working, the exception being Hue. We initially implemented Philip's HTTP interface, but their new streaming Entertainment API was released earlier this month. The implementation is more complex and heavy, but we did confirm it will work; just need to finish porting over. The increase in performance is definitely worth the effort.
After a little digging I assume the DS planned hue integration will use the new hue entertainment API which i understand only works on the gen 2 hub. Would be good to get clarity on that but eitherway you can purchase hubs separately these days!
Please expect an announcement about integrations later in the year. Our goal is to make the announcement in April
The Integrations going live is going to be the final piece to my home entertainment puzzle especially after adding a Sonos Soundbar and Sub into the mix. Once Harmony can control the DreamScreen I'll be able to put away all other remotes and my phone when switching between inputs and the Hue integration will be the icing on the cake. Keep up the good work and if you need Beta testers, just ask!
