Due to the shipping system we use, tracking will only appear after the package is scanned by the local carrier. This usually happens fairly quickly for packages within the USA, but may take much longer for international packages. Please keep in mind that the package displays your full address (including country and postal code) even if the tracking email does not, this is just how the shipping software sends the email. Rest assured that if you received a tracking email your package was sent and is on its way.
If you are in the USA and feel that your package is taking much longer than it should, please contact your local postal office or USPS to see if they have any more information.
For packages outside of the USA, USPS is not able to provide assistance while the package is with an international carrier so you need to contact your local postal office or the nearest Customs office.

So once the package leaves the USA, international customers won't have any way of keeping track of it?

Many countries update package tracking so that it can be done so directly at www.usps.com. Some others like UK, France etc allow tracking of the package with the same number on their postal service sites. Unfortunately a few countries do not have a tracking mechanism to get the data from.

Just tried putting my tracking in to my local mail service and it is recognised but no info is available which is understandable as its still in the USA.
