Hi,
does anyone know the pinout of the dreamscreen stick?
I don't have an oscilloscope, so i don't want to try just any pin and possible fry the dreamscreen stick.
Thanks & Cheers

Hello, Many backers asked about being able to change the density of LEDs around the TV. To address this and make DreamScreen installation more flexible, we have completed tooling of a screw terminal connector that allows off-the-shelf LED Strips to be connected. We intend to make this available with the upcoming 'DreamScreen DIY' - a kit that ships without the LEDs. The screw terminal exposes GND, 5V and DOUT. LED Strips such as WS2812B, SK6812 can be connected directly to this connector and the stick can power upto 90 LEDs without need of external power supply. When using more than 90 LEDs, an external 5V power supply can be used to connect upt0 184 LEDs. The DreamScreen app will allow configuration of number of LEDs in horizontal and vertical axis, the starting corner and the direction of travel. All other functions of DreamScreen - Video, Music and Ambient Modes will work with the LEDs per the configuration. Regards DS Team

When using a bigger PSU (say a 10A psu) it would be handy to power everything with this 1 PSU. Can you make the breakout cable so that there is a power input-plug (from the PSU) and a power-output plug to the DS stick? That way you would only need 1 power adapter (PSU) to power the entire set.

When using an external power supply, DreamScreen stick does not need to be powered as it can run off the 5V rail connected to the LEDs. We have a connector in mind that will do exactly what you mentioned. We are working on a circuit to ensure that it disconnects power from one of the 10A power supply if the smaller one is also connected.

Hi
Is the breakout board/cable still something you are planning to offer to KS backers separately?
I'd quite like a play with one but obviously don't want to buy another whole kit.
Thanks
Jonathan

Hello Jonathan, We can make this available for KS backers directly without having to purchase a DIY kit. Will you please send a Direct Message to us and we will help get this moving. Regards Rakesh

Will it be a stick+connectors or just connectors? When is planned to be released? Regards

The DIY kit will include a stick in addition to the connector. It just won't include the lights. The official release date is still not set, but if you would like more information please send an email to victor@dreamscreentv.com

Finally I bought a used dreamscreen at ebay.... with no leds
I'm planning to buy a sk6812 strip + external power supply, connecting dreamscreen data out to the strip and powering the strip (+5V & ground) through the power supply. Will this work??
Thx

It will work if you can manage to wire the lights into the Stick yourself, but we recommend getting our DIY connector to make that process easier. Also just make sure the power supply is the same type as the original to avoid any problems.

I bought a dreamscreen and received it today. Very nice, but i need more white because my wall is grey. SO i decided to buy other leds.
Can any of you tell me if it's possible to use the sk6812 rgbw leds ?
