If you find that your Bluetooth connection disconnects often or that the range is very short, it may be because of the location of the DreamScreen Stick. The metal components in some TVs and receivers can cause a disruption with the DreamScreen Bluetooth connection so if your DreamScreen is adhered onto the back of your TV or on top of your receiver, we suggest moving it away from these metal devices to improve Bluetooth signal strength.

What is an acceptable distance for bluetooth to still work. Mine only works when I'm max 3 feet away.

Peter,
A typical range is like 20 ft. without obstructions so you should be able to use the Bluetooth anywhere within the same room. Try moving your DreamScreen to a different location as mentioned in the above post and also try using a different device to connect to it to see if it may be the device you're using that is the issue.

Yeah I have had issues since day 1. It's so bad that I just don't use it anymore. I have to turn it on and off manually. Should it come on and off when the TV does? The Bluetooth constantly looses signal and it a pain to get it to reconnect. My friend doughty one at the same time. We have both removed them since they don't seem to work..

Ok this whole connection to Android had me thinking , the most convenient way is to have the unit mounted to the back of the tv they way it was meant to be nice and neat and hidden, but it seems the BLE doesn't like that at all the signal is weak and has horrible range so in my case I am running an android box(minix X8H) which I simply downloaded the dreamscreen Android set up App directly to the box instead of having constant drop outs and distance being the main issue now the Dreamscreen stick is within 2feet of the android box and it works Awsome ,I can use my Android stock remote to select the app and control everything in full screen on my tv , just make sure any other blue tooth devices are turned off on initial set up,I simply went into Android/Bluetooth setup and set to discover new devices and bingo it found it ,then relaunched the Dreamscreen App 😥 I'm sure this would work for anyone using a Android Tv box or Apple TV ,Nvidia Sheild etc. Hope this helps
Cheers

Update on this fix- for whatever reason on the Zones Scree it is only displaying the Left and Right zones ....not sure why everything else is just as it is on a Phone - I tried messing with screen sizes /resolutions ect but it stays the same -even re-installed the app - no change...so I have no Idea on that issue ,but I have no reason to turn off zones so doesn't bother me -

yoda, are the top and bottom zones not showing up on the Minix? Or is this on an iPhone or tablet?

Maybe someone else with a Android tv box could load the app and see if all zone options are showing. This is a pretty sweet way to control the Dream Screen

I to have found myself in the Dream (nightmare) Screen of Bluetooth and am happy to see others have shared their findings and maybe we don't have to reinvent the wheel. I just have a question regarding your work around fix using a Android TV box in which I am unfamiliar yet I would pee on a spark plug if I thought it would work. Are you using the Android TV box remote to control the Dream Screen or your smart phone via the TV box?

Hi Rick
I am using the remote for the Android Box that is he beauty of this fix it eliminates the need to use the phone all together and it gives you a full screen display on the tv of the, app, just load the software directly to the Android Box and control the Dreamscreen directly ,and due. To the fact that the box is mounted so close to the dreamscreen stick (back of the tv in most cases} the connection is very stable.

Like I posted earlier the only small glitch I have is on my Minix X8H Box anyway, in the dreamscreen app it isn't showing the option to turn on and off the upper and lower Zones ,I have no idea what is going on with that , I suspect it is a scaling issue of some type , however all other features of th app work awsome using it this way

Yoda, thank you very much for your reply and you answered my question with words that are priceless. I am shopping for TV box right away. I will leave feedback regarding the zones and the unit I choose. I am leaning towards the Himedia Q10 Pro Android TV if my funds will support it. I have one more question regarding my DreamScreen unit. It was my understanding that the USB power plug could or can be used to power on and off the DreamScreen via the TV's USB port. I thought that's a great idea and perfect since there's a couple of steps eliminated from the process. Have you tried using that option or am I mistaken on the intent of the usb power cable? Thank you again

Rick
I haven't tried powering directly to USB on the tv ,but I know some have Had good success with this and others reported some unnexpected flickering and Issues , no harm in trying with your particular set up it May work fine, it just isn't the officially supported meathod of connection.
