Hi everybody, I’m Corey :-)
I had a question for the community, I messaged a admin about this but got the response you will probably need to purchase another reel. And I don’t want to have to do that so I’m reaching out to you all instead.
Ok I just received my package yesterday, I ordered the extreme package HD for my 80” television.
I took my display off of the wall and mounted a 2x8 board then mounted my wall bracket to the board. I was trying to give a bit more space behind my tv to allow better lighting.
Ok so far so good!
Then I started in the bottom left side (Back of my tv) and went up as the instructions indicated then across the top, Down the right side then the full strip made it to just about the middle of the bottom of the display. So I got the second reel and started from there. Only using a small part just to make it back to the starting point. And as the instructions said I cut the strip at the edge of my tv.
I placed my display back on the wall, ran all of my cables (I like to hide everything I hate seeing cables hanging down, I’m actually OCD when it comes to this!lol)
Plugged the first strip into 1 then the second shorter strip into 2 then the HDMI out to my display and plugged my DVR into input 1. Then powered it up.
My display flickered and finally displayed a picture (terrible but a picture non the less, it had a ghosting appearance) I moved the DVR into input 2 and finally got a nice clear picture.
This is where everything went bad with my strips. It appeared that after setting up everything in the app that not all of my leds lit up. Actually about 70% of led 1 (the front ones) then 30% didn’t.
And the small section on led 2 lit up.
I tried playing with the settings, adjusting the led count, updated firmware, reset the hub, restarted the hub, basically I tried every setting in the app with no success.
At one point I did get them all to light up but the colors wouldn’t change accordingly so I kept messing with the settings. The strips went back to 70% on 30% off and led 2 lit up aswell. And I was never able to bet them all back on.
So extremely long story short, do you have any suggestions I can do to fix this. I see in the app (didn’t see the video until everything was set up) that the process should have been to cover 2 sides with LED #1 and 2 sides with LED 2 so it can be properly calibrated.
(The instruction manual should have been more clear on this)
I just want to get this all working properly without having to invest more money in something that appears to still have a bunch of bugs, left to be worked out. I truly was looking for a plug and play device instead of building one with a raspberry pi.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks all!
