Just got my dreamscreen few weeks back. Got everything working even with my a/v in the mix. Except for a few things. All my devices cant go higher then yuv420. And need to be 4:2:0 anything higher and the dreamscreen freaks out. Now my question. Anyone can get higher with the video settings then me ? Or does everyone have this issue.
To the dreamscreen devs : will this ever work ?! To me it seems like an hdmi 2.0 limitation. If so that would reaaaaally suck. Because you guys are advertising wrong if so. I bought this thinking i could keep everything at max settings with the exception of dolby vision.
Gotta say though when it works your product is something else. Its really awesome. Im just afraid you have a wrong hdmi chipset in there if not. It needs to be updated to something higher im keeping my fingers crossed

Hello, I had the same problem. Whether I used it between AVR and Tv or before AV. The problem is the outcome from DS4K. The solution brought a hdmi splitter, where the 2nd exit goes to ds4k, but also there works only a 2m hdmi cable, at 3 M losing the connection and the led is not working. My setup: Vu+ Uno 4k, Ps4 Pro, 4k Bluray Player (3m Premium HDMI cable) -------> AVR -- HDMI Out 1 -----------> (3m Premium HDMI cable) HDMI Splitter ----------> HDMI Out 1 --------> (3m Premium HDMI cable) TV HDMI Out 2 --------> (2m Premium HDMI cable) DS4K For some reason, the led only operate with a 2m cable between DS4K and Splitter. I had also tried to use the second HDMI out from my AVR for the DS4K, but then the Ps4 Pro says no HDR. Now, it's all the way it s supposed to be, and I enjoy everything with full color space and HDR. If anyone is interested, thats the HDMI Splitter. www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B07D6WYJTN/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1Hope I could help someone with it Ps: my English is not the best, sorry for that.

A very very late respone for me. I never noticed this awesome reply. Im gonna order one from amazon de since im from the netherlands and i order a lot from there. 2 questions though. Which version did you buy the standard one or the one with downconverter ? Because that last one seems like a good thing. But if the standard one works ill save myself the 20 euro lol. If i ordered it which mode do i use ? Copy ?
2nd question. The 2 mtr hdmi cable. Did you order that one from amazon as well ? If so can you post me a link for that one as well ? That way it should work 100% π
Thanks meg

Hello, I bought the normal version and I use copy mode. Now that I bought a different tv (65") (before 55 ") I had to change my wiring, since it no longer worked as on previous tv (why?, I don't know) from AVR to the splitter i now use a 2m cable and from the second exit from the splitter to the ds4k i use the supplied HDMI cable from ds4k. Apparently, the way must be as short as possible so that the hub can process the data. This way it works again as described above. ( but turn on the ps4 hdcp still off) As with the other splitter I cannot say, but i think it will work just like that. Ich use these HDMI Cable and i would recommend you to buy maximum 2m. KabelDirekt - 4K HDMI Kabel - 2m - kompatibel mit (HDMI 2.0a/b 2.0, 1.4a, 4K Ultra HD, 3D, Full HD, 1080p, HDR, ARC, Highspeed mit Ethernet, PS4, XBOX, HDTV) - TOP Series www.amazon.de/dp/B004BEMD5Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_SFwmCbPAN9DW9I hope i could help π

Ah too bad i thought you could enable hdcp with the splitter i frequently use spotify while gaming.
Anyone else have experience with a splitter with downscaler so i cant enable hdcp with full 4k 4:4:4 ?

You can use HDCP and it will work π but in my case, the led turn off after some time and i have to restart the hub. Maybe your AVR work better with the splitter. Give it a try, you can return it if you are not happy.

Just an quick update :
I was about to order the hdmi splitter. When i got the idea lets try one last thing. Instead of ps4 apple tv and all my stuff>avr>dreamscreen>tv lets try : Ps4>dreamscreen>avr>tv
And it works!!!!
I got full 4k 4:4:4 and with hdr 4:2:2 like i had before the dreamscreen. All my cables are even 3 meter ( didnt expect that to work after all the posts on the forum) still need to try the apple tv though. Maybe dolby vision will even work fingers crossed. I know dreamscreen wouldt work then. But before i couldnt even use dv with ambient lighting.
Iβll be back with another update once ive played a couple hours on the ps4 to make sure i dont get a single black screen
All this with hdcp 2.2 still enabled. Also arc and everything still works

Also arc and everything still works Back with another update: so everything was working. But then i started wondering. All my cables are amazon basic 3 mtr except for the short cable that came with my ps4. Since that was the easiest excessible i used this one as input for my ps4 to the dreamscreen. So i thought one last try. I used the ps4 hdmi cable this time from avr to dreamscreen. Used another short hdmi cable (nintendo switch) for dream screen to tv. And then from all my devices to avr i just used my hdmi cables. These are the results: Ps4 : full 4k rgb 4:4:4 and 4:2:2 in hdrππ»ππ»ππ»ππ» Apple tv : dolby vision works!!!! ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ» Nintendo switch always worked since its only 1080p So turns out all allong it was the hdmi cable. And trust me a tried a lot of them. Expensive ones. Amazon ones. Short ones, long ones. It worked a little but could never use my devices to its full potential. So for every one who still has problems and tried a lot of stuff Try this one use amazon basics or anything that works without a dreamscreen. For all your devices > avr > use ps4 pro hdmi cable for avr > dreamscreen > use another short cable for dreamscreen > tv Good luck!

Thank you for the above post and we hope somebody else having problems is able to use it to help. We appreciate the update! Have I guess i was a little to early after a acouple of hours i did have the occasional black screen coming up. So today i was trying a couple of other hdmi cables. Amd to my discovery when i went back to ps4>dreamscreen>avr>tv. That as soon as i touch my dreamscreen i get flickeringβΉοΈ. At first i thought it was a bad hdmi cable (still a but unsure) so switched the output cable of the dreamscreen. And now i cant get a single output out of my dreamscreen dont matter what cable i use Still gonna try a couple things. More cable switches, reseting etc. But it seems i have an faulty dreamscreen. Just when it finally started working with max settings...

Yep my dreamscreen doesnt ouput anything anymore not even 1080p Straight from ps4>dreamscreen>tv i get no more then a black screen. I think i tried every trick in the book. Power cycle, switch cables, factory reset, No matter what i try i get no more outputβΉοΈ.
I should have known there was something fishy with mine. As soon as i set it up couple months back. I had that flicker when connecting the cables. But the issue never reappeared and i thought if it works it works.

So I have my PS4 pro connected to the DS 4k and the DS 4k connected to my TV. When I had the video settings set to auto when switching from HDR to SDR the DS would freak out and cut out every few seconds. Only way to fix it was to restart. But every time I would go from HDR to SDR it would freak out again. Only fix I found was to keep it on YUV420, worked fine, but it would give me small issues every few days. I learned to live with it. I saw this thread and decided to see if maybe it was my HDMI cables. I had 6ft Monoprice premium cables. Decided to switch to 3ft cables and also got a USB fan as I found it to get a little warm, plus it's behind my TV stand so a little air circulation won't hurt. So after switching to all 3ft cables, and switching the PS4 Pro video settings to auto, everything works great. When going from HDR to SDR transition is smooth and uneventful. It's been a few hours. Watched Netflix, and played some HDR games. Transition from HDR to SDR has been smooth every time. I'll update in a few days to see if it holds up. These are the cables I used: Monoprice Certified Premium HDMI Cable - Black - 3 Feet | 4K@60Hz, HDR, 18Gbps, 28AWG, YUV 4:4:4 www.amazon.com/dp/B01GCGKBWC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_c.UqCbRPV6D0W

Hi guys,
My suggestion for those setting up a system:
Get a receiver or HDMI splitter (https://www.amazon.com/AV-Access-HDMI-Splitter-Scaler1x2/dp/B07BXNCWKX) with 2 or 3 HDMI Outputs, that is able to properly output the same signal to all outputs (I tested Yamaha, Marantz and Denon). Connect all your equipment to the receiver via HDMI.
Now, one HDMI output goes to the TV and the second output goes to the DS4K box (configure the outputs so they repeat each others signal), bypassing the need to pass anything through the DS4K box while it receives the exact same signal that the TV is displaying.
This will be specially necessary later this year when HDMI 2.1 is out and if you plan to use its features such as VRR, eARC, etc..., as the DS4K box does not have the necessary bandwith to properly passthrough the signal.
I hope this can help some of you.
