Hi,
I backed the project on Kickstarter and bought a 4k Unit with two Kickstands. So far they worked really good. A few days ago I updated to the newest firmware and since then the fan is getting ridiculously loud. Even if I watch a movie it's still louder than the sound from my boxes and it's really annoying. It doesn't even matter if the LEDs are on or off.
I've already restarted the device and reset it to the factory settings, both didn't help. I've also just contacted the support.
Has anybody similar problems or does anyone have a suggestion what else I can do?

If you believe your fan is too loud or running when it shouldn't be, please make sure your 4K Hub is in a location with sufficient ariflow.
Please also try performing a Facotry Reset from the app settings and then setting up your DreamScreen again.

Same issue here. Just bought the 4k DS from a backer here and after installing and doing a factory reset it worked for about 3 hours - but after that it became very loud.
Seems like the fan is doing hard work in the 4k. The confusing issue is - my LED´ s were turned off an hour ago before the fan made such a riot.
My DS is lying on a lowboard, so airflow is given. Any suggestions?
current FW is 1565,right?

Fan was quiet before the update ; tried a factory reset without success. The noise is very disturbing  Will this be addressed in a future update ? Or do I need to ask for a replacement ? |

Fan is so loud mine is behind the TV but it's an oled so there no heat,but the dreamscreen unit is hot to touch,there's plenty of room but the fan is on constantly.Tried factory reset but still the same!

I had similar issues as described here...and maybe found a reason why the fan was getting louder: there was a lot of dust which blocked the intake and I simply blew it away...and bingo, fan noise is gone! Maybe worth a try,
