First off, Equipment list:
Source: Sony UBP-x800
1080p Output (couldn't get it to work on 4k either)
YCbCr 4:2:2 (couldn't get it to work with 4:4:4 either)
HDMI Deep Off (coun't get it to work with this on either)
Receiver: Denon X4400h
Signal Enhanced 4k
Dream Screen: 1.6.5.6 Color Boost: Off Minimum Luminosity: Off CEC Passthrough: On CEC Port Switch: On HPD Enabling: On USB Power: On CEC Power: On HDR Tone Remapping: ON or Off
Lights LED Output #2 SK6812 from Alitove
Cables:
From DS to TV: Cable include in DS box.
Without the DS in line, I can run 4k HDR 4:2:0 through the cables without problems. I used to have problems with some cheaper cables, but those issues were resolved with the cables as stated.
Issues: I have been able to tell the DS how big the TV (65" Samsung) and use the Zone Control to turn on just one side of the TB, that works as expect.
In ambient mode, I have been able to get the color to work, sometimes....and that is a terrible explanation of what I see and for that I apologize.
I have however never been able to get the output to wokr properly when viewing a movie/input. It seems as those the LEDs are being addressed in someway as they will fade in and out some, but the colors are always a shade of white.
Going into the Denon, I also have a Roku, and an Intel NUC computer.
All inputs go to the Denon, and then out the Denon (on HDMI 4 for Arc) to the DS in, and then to the Samsung HDMI that also supports ARC.
This is what I get:
I have tried turning everything down to 1080p, and non-HDR to see if that helps, which it did not.
Please advise.

Are you using RGB+W LED lights instead of just RGB?

Yes, DreamScreen will only support RGB lights and does NOT support RGBW.

The item you linked to should work with DreamScreen. Please let us know if you encounter any issues.

So the new LED strip came in. Its all hooked up, and works for the coloring.
I am still having issues with video passthrough at 4k. I am going to go through the options on the devices and reciever and see exactly what does, and doesn't work for better troubleshooting.
However, did set my xbox up for 1080 and played some video games, and that was fast and responsive.
Thanks for the help on the LED!!!

With other cables. And yes everything worked with old cables until the dreamscreen came in the set up. Only thing i cant get working is 4k any higher then 4:2:0 which is a big bummer. Stil figuring out how to get it working at 4:4:4 Edit: forgot to add : i have all my hdmi sources running through the receiver then output that one on INPUT 2 of the dreamscreen important one! Then on to the tv

I think that is where I am sitting as well, the 4:4:4 vs the 4:2:0. I honestly have tabled the project for a bit since some other stuff came up, but this is back to being worked on. Im going to set everythign in the chain to 4:2:0, and see what happens. And then try the beta firmware if I can get it and see if that makes a difference.
I know it doesn't make a huge diffence in movies, if at all. But I do a decent amount of gaming on the setup which is where i would like the subsampling to be at its highest.
edit: More reading, it might not make a dang bit of difference. Im gonna put everything in 4:2:0 and try to live a happy life with colors.

I fixed everything. Got 4k rgb on my ps4 pro. Even dolby vision on my apple tv 4k. Turns out it like mentioned tons of times on the forum it is the hdmi cables. And i tried a lot of them certified cables and everything. So thats why i stopped trying. Eventually i tried going my devices>dreamscreen>denon>tv instead of the dreamscreen behind the denon. Everything worked. But then i noticed i used diffrent cables just for the quick testing. I used hdmi cables that came with my ps4 and nintendo switch. So i thought ah well lets give the old set up a try with these cables. And everything worked. Unlucky for me a day later my output of the dreamscreen died😂 But there is replacement on the way.

I have an Xbox, BluRay, Roku and a PC there. So you have your devices going into the DreamScreen, and then into your Denon, then out to your TV?
I put everything down to normal or standard on the TV, bluray and Denon, and then turned of the HDR option in the DreamScreen and it seems to work. From my understanding, (and I could be totally wrong), 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 is a way of displaying the color and hdr. If I am running 4:2:0 I still have hdr, it is just using a compression method...which could actually point back to hdmi cables.
Not sure if this is a clue, but the first three LEDs on my strip would randomly blink which, more like stutter consistently. If I turn off the DS and turn it back on, that goes away (sometimes).
When I go to the Denon information page it is showing that I am receiver and outputting in BT.2020.

No, i tried the setup device>dreamscreen>avr>tv. But by doing that i grabbed some other hdmi cables. From that moment everything worked.
Then i used the same cables for devices>avr>dreamscreen>tv and everything was working as well
Just received my replacement dreamscreen. And can confirm everything works a okay. I can use full rgb 4k (4:4:4) or hdr 4k @ 4:2:2
Even dolby vision works on my apple tv. (Leds dont work though since not supported)
If you really want to make sure your hdmi cables work. Order some belkin 2.1 hdmi cables!!!
These cables are 48gb normal hdmi have 18gb. The problem is there are also a lot of cables on the market that claim they support the full 18gb but really dont. I even have encountered this for example: ordered 3 amazon basic hdmi cables that claim to work with 4k and all. 1 works perfectly. Second one seemed to work but gave me an occasional flicker (black screen) sometimes once a day sometimes 10 times an hour. Third one didnt even work in 4k hdr.
In other words you can buy hdmi cables for hunderds of dollars but you never know for certain if it’ll work. Unless its hdmi 2.1 cables. Even if they dont hit the full 48gb all our devices will never even come close to using it.
Also one small tip which you probably have enabled. Be sure you enable 4k enhanced signal format. Found in video settings of your avr. And enable ultra hd deep color for your used hdmi port of the tv.
Edit: ps : if you get everything working in 4k yuv420. But get black screen flikkers or no screen at all. You can be sure that its the hdmi cables

I set the output to mirror HDMI 1 and 2, and stuck the DS on HDMI out 2 and the tv on 1. This seems to be the best solution so far.
