First I would like to say for the price this is a great product. I have had mine for several months now and for the most part am very happy with it. I bought the DIY HD and connected to to an existing 142 LED WS2812 strip I had been using for sometime now. I built my first ambilight system 2 years ago and love how it enhances the viewing experience. I am about to change to a new strip of WS2812s of 60 per meter rather than my current 30 per meter strip. I will be at the limit of LEDs for the HD at 250 total.
I would really like it if these good folks would at a depth control to the app, I feel that the current version of the capture is going to deep and doesnt give as good an output as it would if it were 15% to 20% less. I hope this is a future update coming.
If you are on the fence about purchasing this product, I suggest you go for it. They build a good product now and I am sure it will get even better.
