Hey all!
First off, thanks for this amazing product. I saw it in action last week and also got to see its wide range of compatibility. Kudos! Now I want to get one for myself - the flex HD.
My problem is that I intend to upgrade my 40 incher to a 55 inch one in about a couple of months. The instruction videos suggest cutting the LED strip. Is there any way that this can work on my 40 while not cutting the strip?
Thanks a tonne to whoever can give me a definitive answer.

Install it without cutting and set the LED count accordingly then see if the excess is lighting or not. If not your good to leave the at the full length. Worse case scenario you could solder it back together...pretty easy or get a replacement strip. Worth it IMHO.

DO NOT CUT (yet) In the Flex / DIY Custom settings you can specify the exact number of LEDs used on the back of the TV and turn off the un-used LEDs remaining on the spool. (see around 2:48) I have a 2 x Flex set up on a 65" TV. I didn't peel the adhesive backing off the strips and have 2 x 3/4 used, connected, spools hanging on the backside of the TV (I was very careful with folding at the corners hopefully the strips aren't ruined). I can confidently upgrade my TV at any point with my set up. Once you upgrade you may want to terminate the strip ends by cutting them. (purely anecdotal-can't find old post) One user reported their backlighting may have appeared brighter after cutting the end off (which could make some sense since you are not sending power to the end of the strip with un-used LED's any more)
