I have a 4K Flex 70” with 2 sidekicks. I’ve already had several issues getting everything setup. I’m also using an Apple TV 4K and a Vizio E70-E3 TV. I’ve also already upgraded my HDMI cables.
Here’s a list of my remaining issues with no resolution yet:
1. After much trial and error I was able to get the Apple TV to work. However, I’m not able to keep my Vizio have the UHD option enabled. If I turn it on, then the Apple TV doesn’t work anymore with everything running through the DS 4K hub. What’s the point in having a UHD TV if I can’t watch it in UHD?
2. My DS app on my iOS device (XS Max, iOS 12.1.2) is basically a crapshoot when it comes to whether or not it shows me my 3 DS devices when I open the app. Sometimes I see a single sidekick. Sometimes I see nothing at all (this is actually the typical thing that happens). It’s annoying as hell. The app is up to date. The firmware is up to date. And I’m also connected to 2.4 GHz WiFi connection (Ive read that 5 GHz doesn’t work). I want my DS app to just work when I open it and not appear as if I’ve never set it up before.
3. Sidekicks...what a mess. The sidekicks will turn on and then they’ll turn off. Sometimes they stay for a few minutes or a few seconds, and other times they’ll be on for an hour. But they never stay on continually. They turn on and off randomly. Sometime only one will turn on. There’s no rhyme or reason to this. It’s extremely annoying. No clue how to make to work.
Any ideas on how to resolve these issues?

I have a feeling #2 and #3 are related. Can you describe your network setup - what model router, any additional AP's installed, how many devices are connected?

I have an Apple Airport Extreme located on the main level (directly above the TV location in my basement)...the only wi-fi router that I have running and that's connected via Ethernet to a relatively recent Xfinity router. I do have a number of devices connected (I'd say around 20) and about half of those (phones, computers) are actively using the connection on a continuous basis.

Update: I established a secondary wireless network with another wireless router much closer to the DS area. I redid the entire setup process. All of my lights are working well now and I don’t have the dropout issues with the sidekicks or with the app not finding my devices.
Still no resolve to #1 and the UHD setting on my Vizio but it is what it is for now.

Glad to hear the network issues are resolved - sorry for all that hassle. Regarding issue #1: my initial thought is perhaps a cabling issue although you stated the cables have been changed - if you are still using the flat ribbon one that shipped with DreamScreen, trying swapping it out too. (I hate sounding cliche but it's imperative all the cables are capable of passing 4K content). Next I would make sure the ATV4K color space is set to 4:2:0 (and not 4:2:2). If all else fails I would make sure UHD content still works correctly with the ATV connected directly to the Vizio (bypassing the DreamScreen). If applicable, does this issue occur with any other 4K sources?
Edit: Are you trying to pass HDR content? Are you seeing "HDR" on the screen?

I’ve seen the OP fixed the issue via setting up a secondary SSID on a close router...but I have done both and still have these issues. Anything else you can think of? Thanks!
