Bought a 4K dreamscreen because I was getting ready to update my TV but haven’t yet. Things were working fine but recently (don’t know if appletv did an update or dreamscreen did(does it auto update firmware??) ) I am having hdcp handshake issues— I cannot get screen to show up. Upon connecting appletv it seems to try to switch through all the resolutions but nothing ever syncs up!
So my setup is: appletv4K -> dreamscreen 4K -> TV 1080P
Only workaround: connect appletv directly to TV, picture shows up, then reconnect dream screen between appletv and tv.
I’m assuming the problem is something like: appletv thinks dreamscreen can do 4K so tries outputting 4K, dream screen passes 4K to tv and tv can’t sync because it’s only 1080P
I’ve fiddled with all the settings on dreamscreen and went through appletv resolution reset (menu +down button) but no success
