Hello,
Yesterday I tried to put my Dreamscreen 4K DIY-Kit into operation. The Ambient mode works, but as soon as I activate the Video mode, the LEDs remain dark or correspond to the set value of Minimum Luminosity.
My components are wired as follows:The DS 4K is connected to the AVR Denon X3400H (video conversion = off) with the supplied ribbon HDMI cable . From DS 4K to Full HD TV is a new 2m HDMI Premium cable wired.
In addition, I get only a picture on some input signals displayed. Steam Link works (only Picture, no LED), Fire TV Stick 4k and SAT receiver not (No Picture and No LED).A change of the HDMI cable between DS 4K and AVR (older HDMI 2.0 cable and a new 2m) was also unsuccessful.
Do you have any other ideas for testing?

Various tests with HDMI cables and HDMI input ports on the AVR showed that not all components can be operated between AVR (Denon X3400H) and TV.
My satellite receiver and Fire TV Stick 4k only shows a picture if they are operated directly on the Dreamscreen 4k and this is then connected to the AVR.
Since my AVR is controlled by Harmony and voice control, this is unfortunately an unacceptable constellation.
Desired installation:
Technisat ISIO STC UHD satellite receiver -> AVR -> Dreamscreen 4K -> TV (LED Video mode works, but shows no picture)
Fire TV Stick 4k -> AVR -> Dreamscreen 4k -> TV (LED Video mode works, but shows no picture)
Functioning installation:
Technisat ISIO STC UHD satellite receiver -> Dreamscreen 4K -> AVR -> TV (LED Video mode works and picture is shown)
Fire TV Stick 4k -> Dreamscreen 4k -> AVR -> TV (LED Video mode works and picture is shown)
Desired and working installation:

PS3 -> AVR -> Dreamscreen 4k -> TV (LED Video mode works and picture is shown)

Set it up like this.
Sources HDMI to avr
Avr out (if 2 outs use first one for any input on DS) HDMI to DS
Ds HDMI to tv
Make sure the ds is set to the correct input tat you plugged in to then put to sleep.
power on in sequential order. Source, AVR, DS, TV.
Let me know if you now get lights and picture.
It sounds like the DS may not be plugged in correctly, I.e. Not getting the video signal to enable lights to function.

After reading the second post more thoroughly. I think your AVR settings need to be changed to pass a signal the ds can handle, could be the tv as well. Play with the video setting for color bit depth, color palette, color representation, etc. I know there are posts on here that people have said what settings have worked for them in the 4k resolutions. I apologize but can't recall the settings that worked, may need to search for those. Hope this helps !

I am having basically the same problem.
I have a Denon X2300W. I’ve struggled to display anything at all through the DS but I have had some success with a PC as a direct input, and by turning off signal processing (for volume etc overlays).
The main issue I’ve found in terms of signal for the screen is not using the HDMI port that has HDR 4:4:4 chroma enabled. Using this port I can see my Apple TV in HDR, but all other sources fail to display (except for setup screens on amp).
By switching to a non HDR input on my TV I’m able to switch any source to display through the DS!
However..
I get zero LED illumination in video mode. Zilch. Ambient is ok and all light up fine, but music and video modes are totally dead. Not entirely sure what the problem is but am discussing with tech support.
I think I saw the LEDs light up on the PC signal previously but I’ve spent that long troubleshooting I’m doubting my own memory now!

hey .. right now I have the same issue ..ambient works fine, but no lights on video mode.
everything worked fine from the beginning .. and now - after a few months, this happened.
did you solve it?

hey .. right now I have the same issue ..ambient works fine, but no lights on video mode. everything worked fine from the beginning .. and now - after a few months, this happened. did you solve it? greetings same for me, i have ds4k since 3 years everything worked fine from the beginning, and now ds4k messing around. I have flickers, a side that doesn't work anymore, the alignment is not correct and sometimes black screens I change my led cuz on i see
and in all that I have changed nothing, nothing. the device is between my android box and my audio receiver.
I changed my LEDs because I often saw a red flicker on the left edge at the top but I have the same result
I do notice differences when I watch movies by plex or kodi.
I'm going to have a flicker on plex on some videos and not on kodi ...
dont know why  ?

and for the problem of heat and noise of the fan, I do not forget that we did not have this concern before the last update ....
And since the team is dead and we have not been able to downgrade ...
