Are you guys planning to sell just the 4k Hub by itself once it goes live. It shows the 4k with lights but not just the 4k hub. During the Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns, you were able to purchase the "DIY DreamScreen 4K", which is just the DreamScreen 4K hub, without the LED strips, and without any SideKick lights... with just a connection cable so you can purchase your own LED strips. I'm sure this will be an option once you can purchase them retail (on the website) as well... |

On the Kickstarter page they mention that DreamScreen Flex can be used on TVs over 80", but it doesn't indicate which type of TV it can be used on. Is it just for HD TVs at the moment, or 4K ones as well?

The Flex LEDs can be used on either HD or 4K TVs. The resolution limit of the DreamScreen is determined by the Hub and not the LEDs themselves. You can use the Flex LEDs with either an HD or 4K Hub.

You would need the DreamScreen 4K model to fully support the resolutions higher than 1080p (UHD, 4K). I don't know if you currently have any HDMI connections going into your TV that actually utilize the 120Hz... if not (most likely, as very few devices are able to utilize HDMI with 120Hz), it won't make a difference. But if you have, then you will have to keep in mind that, with this setup, HDMI connections will be limited to 60Hz... see also this thread in regard to that: dreamscreen.boards.net/thread/327/hz-resolution-limit-question |

They said they would be working overtime in December to get all the Kickstarter 4K orders shipped in December. With luck, they may also start shipping the Indiegogo orders in December, maybe even some of the regular pre-orders. The rest will probably be shipped in January...

Hello,
I am trying to decide which led strip to use. I did this thing already with an Arduino and a laptop, but never able to use the live tv part.
Anyways, I need to know what kind of LED strip to use. The DIY cable only on the website looks like that it only has 3 wires on the cable end, green end. Every WS2813 strip has 4 contacts.
What is the LED per meter on the FLEX strip? (Using the Arduino and the software, I had 178 led zones, and it worked rather amazing, using 30 led per meter)

DreamScreen DIY currently will work with WS2812B, SK6812, and WS2813 digital RGB LED lights. Please do not attempt to directly connect other types of LEDs to DreamScreen. Please note there is a maximum limit of 250 total LEDs. Each side can have 45 and the top and bottom can have 80 each.
The Flex LED strips have 24 LEDs per meter.

Would be good to have a comparison table showing specs for HD & 4K side by side and the different types of leds... * DreamScreen 4K * DIY - hi. i have buy the dreamscreen 4k mega, but tv i got 75" - present from my wife. can i use the dreamscreen like DIY and use 2 led stripe wirh 60 per metr or 30 per meter?thanks |
