The new HD Kit with 2 Sidekicks arrived today and the LEDs seem to work properly, but my TV receives only a stereo signal. My setup is pretty simple and common I guess
PS4 -> DreamScreen HD Kit -> Samsung TV (UE55J6250SU) -> S/PDIF out to 5.1 Receiver
I tried the following settings:
PS4: Bitstream + DTS or Dolby (tried both, same results) TV: Bitstream, but DTS and Dolby are greyed out. Only Stereo and DTS Neo 2:5 is available
If I connect the old Dreamscreen splitter i can run both DTS and Dolby without any problems.
Any ideas?

The 1.2.1.7 firmware coming out soon addresses an EDID issue regarding surround sound that may potentially resolve this issue. Contact us directly if you would be interested in getting access to the new firmware now.

If your receiver has HDMI input/output available, it would be best to route everything through the receiver via HDMI and then out to the Dreamscreen and out to the TV. This will segregate the Dreamscreen to handling only the video portion of the signal and remove the legacy spdif connection from the system allowing the receiver to decode the audio instead of the TV converting from HDMI, to spdif, and then the receiver having to decode that signal. If you would like to use Dolby TrueHD/DTS-MA, it would also have to go through this connection. Finally, through the HDMI, if you don't have a Dolby TrueHD/DTS-MA compatible receiver, you can have the PS4 decode and output PCM through HDMI and you'll still get the benefit of the increased audio bandwidth and quality, but it will not work with spdif, it will only output Dolby legacy/DTS legacy at best through this connection.
