I have ordered the DreamScreen HD Wifi complete Kit.
As I understand now all my HDMI inputs would be plugged in the DreamScreen hub and from the hub it would only be one output HDMI connected to the LCD TV on any HDMI input.
I needed to clarify, since as of now I have different devices connected to the LCD on various HDMI inputs as follows :
1. HTPC HDMI Out ---> HDMI In - Onkyo 7.1 Amp HDMI Out ---> LCD TV HDMI 1 In
2. PS3 HDMI Out --> LCD TV HDMI 2 In
3. PS4 HDMI Out --> LCD TV HDMI 3 In
4. ChromeCast --> LCD TV HDMI 4 In
So once I setup the DreamScreen Hub, only 3 input devices (1,2,3 from above list), would be plugged in the hub and setup would be as follows:
1. HTPC HDMI Out ---> HDMI In - Onkyo 7.1 Amp HDMI Out ---> DreamScreen HDMI 1 in---->DreamScreen HDMI Out ---> LCD TV HDMI 1 In
2. PS3 HDMI Out --> DreamScreen HDMI 2 in---->DreamScreen HDMI Out ---> LCD TV HDMI 1 In
3. PS4 HDMI Out --> DreamScreen HDMI 3 in---->DreamScreen HDMI Out ---> LCD TV HDMI 1 In
So in effect all outputs would connect to LCD TV on only one HDMI 1 In port.
What are the limitation of such a setup. As i understand previously I had the possibility of having all the devices running in parallel and I could choose the HDMI source on my LCD TV and input source on Onkyo to either watch movies or play games.
Now what will the behaviour of dreamscreen as it is only plugged in one HDMI input on the TV. If I run two devices on DreamScreen input simultaneously then which one would be displayed on the LCD TV Screen. Do I have to select the input source on DreamScreen via its Wifi App, that would be a rather cumbersome addition to the plethora of remotes I already have.
Thanks for reading and your response.
