OK fast run down - Samsung 4K 65in TV DreamScreen 4K Mega Yamaha Receiver
I have everything working fine when you watch TV (Comcast) using HDMI 2 out of receiver - to DreamScream 4K - out to TV but when I use the TV and switch to Netflix (on the TV smart section) the Lights go out because you are not using the HDMI From the cable box to the reciever to the DreamScream to the TV I am just using the TV itself to work Netflix and using the Audio (Fiber Optical) for the sound going to the Receiver (input 4)
How can I get the lights to work to the screen if you are just using the TV to use Netflix.. with out having to buy an Apple TV 4K to get the Netflix video in 4K
Thanks Patrick Conner

From what I read, you can't at this time. Probably will never be a feature as it has to go through the hdmi.

I am not sure of any current smart TV that can do that. My Samsung KS8500 has 0 video output to an external source. The workaround is to buy a ChromecastULTRA (4k) and plug it into your receiver and CAST Netflix to the chromecastULTRA. That way the video is passing through your dreamscreen 4k and the lights will work.

pdconner I noticed you mentioned using "HDMI 2 OUT of receiver" did you mean the HDMI 2 INPUT (into the receiver, from the COMCAST box)? Some high end receivers have TWO HDMI Monitor OUTPUTS (that can feed the same source to two TVs, projectors, monitors, etc) The first HDMI OUTPUT (#1) usually supports ARC (Audio return channel) which can send digital audio from your TV back to your receiver (when you use the built in applications, like NETFLIX). You shouldn't need to use the optical cable. Note. Your TV may only have 1 HDMI INPUT that supports ARC. That's usually HDMI 4 (says "ARC") on the one connect box.

I am not aware ony any modern TV with an HDMI out In order to implement that the TV would have at least apply copy protection to keep the content owners like netflix happy

thanks for all the info.. I went out and got a Apple TV 4k and everything works fine.. now I just need to figure out how to get the audio part of the app (Music) in dreamscreen to work .. I get nothing and would like to get it to work with either my receiver or my alexa that is with it.. or even the things in Apple 4k when you go to iTunes and play something there...
