Hi@All,
at first I have to say sorry if my englisch ist not so exact, I’am from Germany.
I get my Dreamscreen HD in the last week direct from USA and I have to say, I love it.
I was so surprised over the german manual and the right power supply with correct plug.
Respect!
In retrospect, it was a bit expensive (shipping to Germany and 19% additional import tax) but I can live with that
I needed about 2-3h to install the strips to my tv and implement it in my home entertainment system.
My girlfriend almost wanted to kill me because it was Sunday.
The biggest problem I had, was the integration in my home entertainment system and the installation of the LED strips.
I have the follow set up and had big problems to use HDMI CEC.
Dreambox 7020HD —> Yamaha RX-V479 —> SONY KDL-55W805C
It works only if I connect dreamscreen direct to my Dreambox.
If I connect the Dreamscreen model direct on the TV HDMI port, the CEC commands don't switch of the Dreambox and the receiver.
Now I have the Dreamscreen module in this configuration and it works very well.
But this takes some time before i found it out.
If I now switch of the TV, all parts shut down.
Dreambox HDMI out —> Dreamscreen —> Yamaha RX-V479 —> Sony TV
The second problem was the backside of my Sony TV, it was absolutely terrible to adapt the LED strip from the HD Kit.
The backside isn’t flat and I have to place the LED Strips with a additional „frame“ but it works god now.
Now I have ordered me a WS2812 4m led strip with 60LED/m, I think it will improve the ambient feeling much more, because I can the flex LED strip adapt very precisely to the shape of the TV back.
If I count the leds, with a small gap from about 2cm to the frame, I get a count of about 226 LEDs.
What is the ideal distance from LED stripes to the border to get best effect?
In normal case I would order the DIY cable and kit direct in your shop, but for me it is too expensive because I have to pay the shipping to germany and the 19% tax, I hope you can understand me.
But I found the pin connection and how to addapt the WS2812 correct, I hope it will help.
If I have some questions or problems, can I poste it here?
Also If I don't buy the LED strips in the dreamscreen shop?
I like dreamscreen very much, even if I had to pay about 60 € more.
If you can realize the implementation of philips hue, it would be perfect.
greetings from Germany
