Just got my DreamScreen 4K, finally got it all hooked up with my PS4 PRO and Shield TV. First issue was the "bad connection" issue which finally sorted itself out after about 20 mins of resetting and restarting the device.
The new/current issue is that the signals for both my PS4 and Shield TV constantly drop. Basically the only way to get it to stay on is to have both plugged in and on, and keep switching between sources until one finally works, and then keep switching till the source i want works.
It took hours to figure this out, and to get Video mode to work on the PS4. For the longest time only Music and Ambient modes were the only ones that worked. It was a matter of resetting the device, PS4 and re plugging the HDMI into the TV until it finally started working. During this time I became aware that if you unplug a device from the DreamScreen unit it requires a restart to get it to work after plugging it back in, it's not plug and play. The signal drop issues are extremely frustrating. I Thought maybe there might be a new firmware update to address this as mentioned in other forums, and after it took me awhile to figure out that you can only see/update the firmware through the app (as there is nothing discussing the process in the instructions), i realized I'm on the latest firmware (1.3.5.2). I have shut off all of the CEC options and still the same issues. Not what sure what it can be.
I can confirm that my TV does receive both 4K and HDR signals at different refresh rates.
I have also noticed that when i play with the saturation, luminosity, fade rates, and brightness settings that the LEDs don't always act consistently. I noticed this with my PS4 background that has stars moving across the screen. I would have the device set up exactly the same, but sometimes after having reset the device the LEDs would not react the same under the same settings. It would take resetting the device and resetting the settings a few times to get it to work the same. Not sure why this is.
Reading other threads it seems like they know about the signal issue, and it appears that they are trying to fix it on the HD version, not sure about the 4K. Basically with the amount of time it takes to stop the signal drops, after spending hours trying to get Video mode to work with my PS4, as well as going as many trial and errors to figure out how to get things to work I feel disappointed that these issues were no vetted out better prior to release.
I'm still tweaking with the settings in the hope i can get video mode to not look so washed out, and get more vivid colors like the music and ambient modes. If you guys are having luck I would be curious what your settings are. Also if you guys have any tips to stop the signal drops I'd be interested.

Hi, I can't say I've been suffering from signal drops but I do get the flickering on occasion with my UHD Blu-ray player, this is down to the resolution and HDMI handshake, which is remedied by either restarting the TV or my AVR. My DS4K sits in between my AVR and my TV. I can't say colours are wasted out in video mode, it depends what's being displayed on the screen. I find that using the colour boost setting on medium or high will lose colour definition, which seems to be the opposite of what colour boost should be achieving? I have also had to alter the saturation settings quite a bit for video mode to correctly correspond with the colours on the screen. The wall behind my TV is not white but very light in colour but in Ambient mode reds look red, blues look blue etc. so you would think that the Video mode would also display correctly but it doesn't display correctly in my opinion unless you reduce green somewhat and blue even more so boosting the red. It may be worth you adjusting saturation until you are happy that the colour behind the TV matches what is on the screen. I did run RGB test patterns from YouTube which the DS4K easily coped with but I don't think it's a true test of actually watching video content. Also get in touch with Victor and Rakesh at Dreamscreen they are more than happy to help.

It never hurts to try different HDMI cables or experiment with other video sources if you can (DVD Player, Xbox One, PC, Chromecast, etc.)
Does manually setting the PS4 Pro resolution and RGB Range decrease the frequency of black flashing screens? I think the PS4 defaults to automatic, and I could imagine that there could be issues with detecting and setting the resolution automatically when you place a device between the console and TV. Also the console main menu output and in game video mode output can differ, which could potentially throw a wrench into things as well. (might account for your main menu theme not being detected correctly by DreamScreen?)
PS4 Pro Resolution Change: Go to Settings -> Sound and Screen -> Video Output Settings -> Resolution
I'm excited to get my Dreamscreen 4K and utilize it with my PS4 Pro

It's also definitely not my HDMI cables as the one that seems to work with the Shield TV does not work with the PS4, and the PS4 cable works on the Shield TV. I also tried different extra cables and no difference. UPDATE.... All after emailing Rakesh and trying some stuff he had suggested out, this is what I've learned; please note that I have a Samsung KS8000 TV, and it uses a one connect box: Switching the special viewing mode HDR+ off, as well as HDMI UHD Color in expert settings does in fact allow the PS4 Pro to display without signal drop. If I then turn the special viewing mode HDR+ back on it seems to work. Unfortunately in order to actually display content in HDR, it requires that the HDMI UHD setting is also turned on for that port. Switching the HDMI UHD option back on for the HDMI port breaks the signal and appears to be the issue. Please note that the Shield TV signal is fine, it only affects the PS4 signal. So you could switch back and forth between sources and turning UHD on and off in the TV settings. This does however mean that you can not watch or play any content in HDR with the PS4 Pro (at least with the KS8000). When the HDMI UHD feature is also turned off the PS4 only allows for 2160p-TUV420, and 2160P-RGB is greyed out and unsupported. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue, but if so hopefully this helps out for now. I feel like i should also apologize for saying I was frustrated and felt this should have been better vetted out if this is in fact an issue with Samsung's HDMI UHD setting. Also thank you Rakesh for the quick response, recommending going through TV settings as well, and backing your product.

Thanks for the update! I have the same TV (KS8000) so I am twice as interested now. It was a widely popular TV panel so this will likely be helpful for others as well.
I have purposefully not taken a TV firmware update as of yet, so I don't have the HDR+ option in my consumer settings menu. Hopefully this simplifies my DreamScreen install and usage.

Hello guys,
I recently buy my dreamscreen 4k. I plug it with my xbox one x and my samsung KS8000 and one connect. Only when i use my xbox, i see the signal drop. So i will to night make some configuration on my samsung tv and reply if it's change. But it's very frustrated.

I posted this on another thread. It might help your PS4 (or Xbox) issue:
------ I have this problem also when using my PS4 Pro. Sometimes I'll get 15min, sometimes 5min, sometimes 45min, very random.
Here's what fixed it for me.
1. Try turning off HDCP on the PS4 (it's in the Systems Menu). Problem with doing this is you can't run apps like Spotify, Youtube, Netflix ect.
This is the better way 2. Go into Safe Mode on the PS4, change the HDCP from Automatic to HDCP 1.4 (there's links online and youtube videos that show you how to do this). Then once the PS4 boots up, got into the systems menu and turn on HDCP. Then check the PS4 video output (can't remember what menu that's in), it should say HDCP1.4 and something like, you may be unable to use apps that stream 4K content. With this you can still run Spotify and youtube now. Not sure about Netflix as I don't use that on my PS4 so didn't test it.
Seems to be an HDCP 2.2 issue.
I've seen splitters and cables that don't like HDCP 2.2. Your setup seems to have to be just perfect for it for a 100% HDCP2.2 stable signal.
Not sure if you are having the same issue but worth a shot.

I had the same issue with m PS4 Pro, couldn't get it to work, tried all the settings and turning off HDCP, nothing got it to work. Then I tried a 1m HDMI cable coming out of my receiver to the dreamscreen 4k box and now works perfectly. The cable coming out from PS4 pro to the receiver is about 3m long so seems to be the connection from the receiver to the 4k can't be too long as originally I had a 3m HDMI cable going out or receiver to the dream screen. Only seems to be an issue with the PS4 pro though as my original setup worked with everything else perfectly (sky box, Nvidia shield, 4k bluray player).
Hope this helps anyone else trying to get theirs to work with the PS4 Pro.

I too have a PS4 Pro and a Samsung KS8000 and can confirm I have the same problem, basically HDR just will not work through the DS4K (at least at current DS4K firmware v1.6.5.7 and KS8000 firmware v1231).
I can get the PS4 Pro to work with the DS4K if the TV input port has "HDMI UHD Colour" set to OFF. But this gives a non-HDR signal (PS4 Pro says HDR is off and TV has no HDR support).
Turning the TV input port "HDMI UHD Colour" to ON = no signal.
I tried all the suggestions such as turning off HDCP on the PS4, trying different HDMI cables etc but nothing seems to make a difference to this issue.

I am having the same issue above. I have tried various different cables. From xbox one x 2.1 cable to 27gbs cables. But i still get the intermittent singal drop off on PS4 pro & shield with full 4k with HDR.

Mine didn't do 4k because i had a 25' HDMI cable running from the receiver to the DS, so I ran a seperate HDMI from Zone 2 on the receiver to DS and the main HDMI to the tv directly. so all the video skips the DS but it still outputs video to the DS for the effect.
