Please note that out of the box Dolby Vision was not working for me. If this is the case, go to the website and download the firmware update tool. It immediately fixed it for me. If you’re uncomfortable updating it, I’ve heard their support team is really good and will send you an updated firmware box while you return the other one. May I ask if it is possible to downscale 4K Dolby Vision to 1080p non HDR? The Amazon description seems to hint that DV can’t be downscaled. I only have the HD DreamScreen and would love to be able to watch 4k DV with this switch.

It works with downscaling their Dolby Vision content. If there’s a particular title on Netflix with the frame time where you’d like to see the color matching, I can upload that photo here for you to check out.

Example of Dolby Vision using the downscaled method in the GIF. Altered Carbon from Netflix, confirmed via the Apple TV dropdown it was presenting it in DV and not HDR10. Don’t mind the cables, currently reconfiguring the whole setup at home.

Thanks a lot for the GIF looks awesome! You are using a dreamscreen 4k though no? Is the output to the dreamscreen 1080p SDR or HDR? I only have the regular dreamscreen HD and I fear that in your setup the dreamscreen receives 1080p HDR and is able to show the colors through the built in HDR settings.

Works great though. It's super stable now.

Have you updated the firmware using the instructions on their site? My DV wasn’t working properly until I did that. easycoolav.com/download/HDMI-Matrix-4x2-update-kit.html

I can confirm the switch works great. I’ve had it for about a month. It STILL REALLY SUCKS that it’s needed for such an expensive piece of equipment. It’s a good thing users like antinoitkos are sharing how to workaround the defective equipment you guys are selling.

I have plugged in the downscaled HDMI cord to the television, but unfortunately since it’s HDR compatible...I can’t confirm whether it will work with 1080P DS models or not. I have attached a screenshot to show what my television displays. The only true test would be someone with the older model trying this setup to see if it works.

Tempted to order one of these but the lack of auto-switching is giving me pause. I had been waiting on the preorders for the HDFlurry Diva to start up to see it's price but it looks like it's going to be significantly more expensive. It has a couple other nice features too though.

So I updated the firmware and one of the front buttons stopped working and the colors seemed to be off. Got a replacement from Amazon today and this one seems to have the new firmware update already. Its working perfectly! Haven't tested Dolby Vision again I only have a fire stick 4k that supports DV all my other devices are HDR10, but works beautifully with my PS4 pro, Xbox one s, fire TV 2nd gen, and PS3. This makes me hope that the next gen DreamScreen doesn't have HDMI hub built in.

So I have Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos working fine through the EZCOO but no luck with the DreamScreen 4k. Random colors while watching Dolby Vision content through AppleTV. DreamScreen works fine with HDR content just not Dolby Vision. I upgraded the FW and have the EDID Switches set on for 2-3-4. Output A goes to HDMI 1 on the DreamScreen (also tried HDMI 2) and Output B goes to my Atmos Soundbar and connects to ARC on my TV. Apple TV is set to 4K SDR with Range on and Frame off.
Any ideas?

Have you reset the DreamScreen configuration and set it up from scratch while it was connected to Output A? That’s interesting it only happens with Dolby Vision, I’m at a loss since it’s only the DreamScreen having the problem. Have you tried a different HDMI port as well on the DreamScreen. Beyond those points, I can’t think of anything else.

I have been traveling this week so I am just back to troubleshooting but I do believe I have discovered an issue and maybe the primary issue. This is what I see when watching through Output 2 and my Apple TV 4K on a Dolby Vision enabled movie like "The Fifth Element": And this is what I see if I hook up Output 1 to the TV with the picture downscaled: Which explains why the colors work but they are always Red and Purple. I also noticed that like another person in this thread, I also have a stuck hardware button on the front of the device. I flashed the chip and Factory Reset several times but the issue persists. I believe I have a faulty Matrix unit. I sent an email to support to see what they have to say. I would need someone else to test but while I think its possible I might have a faulty unit, I think its equally likely that the Matrix simply can't downscale Dolby Vision content to 1080p HDR or SDR. My hypothesis is based mostly on the description that you pointed out from Amazon as well as the fact that the matrix has no issue downscaling HDR10 or HDR+ content

If you purchased the unit from Amazon, don’t forget you can always use them first for expedited resolutions. If the item is still within its return period, Amazon will send you a replacement if you state the current one is defective. Either way, let me know how it turns out! After a year of battling with technical issues (if your experience was anything like mine with the DS4K), you’re almost there!
